This Privacy Policy outlines the terms under which Idioma Internacional handles and protects the information provided by its users. Our company is committed to the security of its users’ data. When we ask you to join our database, we ensure that it is only used in accordance with the terms of this document. However, this Privacy Policy may change over time or be updated, so we recommend and emphasize continuously reviewing this page to ensure that you agree with such changes.

Definition of Personal Data Processing: The term “personal data processing” shall be understood as: “any operation or set of operations, whether automated or manual, applied to personal data, such as collection, recording, organization, storage, modification, extraction, consultation, use, communication by transmission, dissemination or any other form that facilitates access to this data, comparison or interconnection, as well as blocking, deletion, or destruction, among others.”

1. INFORMATION THAT IS COLLECTED

Through the website and forms, personal information will be collected, including but not limited to, name, contact information, email address, demographic information. Additionally, when necessary, specific information may be required to process an order or carry out delivery or billing. In the collection of data, all requested information is mandatory. If you refuse to provide such information, Idioma Internacional will not be able to fulfill the purposes described below.

2. USE OF THE INFORMATION COLLECTED

The personal information is used to provide the best possible service, particularly to (i) maintain a user record, (ii) apply data updates. The information will also be used for statistical purposes. Idioma Internacional is highly committed to fulfilling its commitment to keeping your information secure. We use the most advanced systems and constantly update them to ensure there is no unauthorized access.

3. CONTROL OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

At any time, you can restrict the collection or use of the personal information provided. Whenever you are asked to fill out a form, such as a user registration form, you can check or uncheck the option to receive information via email. If you have chosen to receive our newsletter or advertising, you can cancel it at any time.

Furthermore, you can exercise your right to access your personal data, rectify or delete it, and consent to its transfer. The rights of deletion and revocation will be subject to the need to retain the data only for the purpose of fulfilling outstanding obligations. Exercising these rights can be done by sending a written request to the email address mercadeo@idiomacr.com.

This company will not sell, transfer, or distribute the personal information collected without your consent, except as required by judicial or administrative authorities when a legal requirement is present. However, Idioma Internacional may, if necessary due to a negotiation or formalization process, merger, acquisition, financing, assignment, or other similar transactions, exchange your personal information. In these cases, only the strictly necessary information will be provided, along with the appropriate legal backing for handling personal information.

Additionally, Idioma Internacional may transfer your personal information to companies offering job opportunities matching your profile. You understand and agree that Idioma Internacional will not be responsible for any misuse of the information by third parties.

Idioma Internacional reserves the right to change the terms of this Privacy Policy at any time.

4. PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

The participation of adolescents under 18 years old is allowed, as long as they are older than 15 years and there is consent.

If personal data of a person under 15 years old is identified, it will be immediately deleted.

Additionally, Idioma Internacional may transfer your personal information to companies offering job opportunities matching your profile. You understand and agree that Idioma Internacional will not be responsible for any misuse of the information by third parties.

Idioma Internacional reserves the right to change the terms of this Privacy Policy at any time.

5. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

Cookies and similar technologies allow recognizing preference information, tracking transactions, and facilitating the efficient administration of the website. Cookies help establish a user session and allow a server to provide website users with appropriate information, advertisements, and services, improving it according to user needs.

Terms and Conditions of Use for BELT Corporate Tests

1. INFORMATION OF THE PREDISPOSER

Idioma Internacional S.A (IDIOMA INTERNACIONAL) is an entity incorporated and existing under the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica, with legal entity number 3-101-247478 and registered address at San José, 150m south of Subway restaurant on Paseo Colón, in front of María Auxiliadora Park. 3. BELT TESTING

An online test that measures language proficiency using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (see Annex). Test takers will be assigned one of the following levels: A1, A2, B1, B1+, B2, B2+, C1, C2.

4. TYPES OF AVAILABLE BELT TESTS BELT

  • English – Receptive Skills: Online English test lasting 60 minutes. Evaluates language knowledge, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension.
  • BELT English – Speaking: 10 to 15-minute telephone interview assessing oral production in English.
  • BELT English – Writing: Online English test lasting 60 minutes. Evaluates written production capability in English.
  • BELT French – Receptive Skills: Online French test lasting 60 minutes. Evaluates language knowledge, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension.
  • BELT Portuguese – Receptive Skills: Online Portuguese test lasting 60 minutes. Evaluates language knowledge, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension.

5. BELT CERTIFICATION

The result obtained in digital certificate format formally displays the level achieved in one or more BELT tests. This document is standardized. Any additional request regarding this certification will incur an additional charge of no less than 50% of the test value.

6. SUPERVISED TEST

A test conducted under the supervision or oversight, either in-person or virtually, by authorized personnel of Idioma Internacional or a third party.

7. UNSUPERVISED TEST

A test conducted without the supervision of authorized personnel from Idioma Internacional or a third party.

8. LEVEL ATTAINED (GRADE)

The level attained in any of the tests is final and cannot be altered.

9. ATTEMPT

An attempt is defined as when a person accesses the test link and clicks the “Start Evaluation” button. Each test allows a maximum of 3 attempts to access the link; once this number is exceeded, access will be blocked, and the individual must contact evaluations@idiomacr.com to reset the evaluation. Access will only be granted again if the test was not completed in its entirety.

10. LINK EXPIRATION

The link sent via email to access the test will be available for 6 days from the scheduled application date. After that time, the link will deactivate. If a person wishes to take the test after these 6 days have passed, they must contact the evaluations department via email at evaluations@idiomacr.com to request a new link.

If three days have passed since the email with the link to the receptive test was sent and the applicant has not completed it, the system will automatically send a reminder email prompting them to do so. The email address to which this reminder will be sent will be provided directly by the company or organization, which, within their privacy policies and terms and conditions, must establish the applicant’s permission to share that information with Idioma Internacional.

11. SENDING LINK TO SCHEDULE AND TAKE THE TEST

The company for which you are applying for a job position will send you a link, either for the Receptive or Speaking test, where you should schedule the test.

The data provided in this form will be used exclusively in Idioma Internacional’s database, solely for storage or statistical purposes. It is understood that you may request exclusion or exercise other rights regarding personal data by sending an email to info@idiomacr.com.

All of the above in accordance with the provisions set forth in Articles 5 and following of Law No. 8968, Protection of the Individual with Regard to the Processing of Personal Data. .

12. VALIDITY OF THE RESULT

The results/level obtained in the test(s) are valid for one year (12 months) from the day the evaluation was completed. Since it is an unsupervised test, hiring companies or public and private institutions may request that the test be retaken under supervision to verify the results.

13. TIME LIMIT

All BELT tests have a time limit for completion, which is an integral part of the final test result. Once the time expires, the test taker cannot request to restart the test or receive a refund.

In case of experiencing any of the following technical issues, the BELT evaluations team may restart the test from the point where the problem occurred. Restarting the test is the only remedy provided; refunds will not be issued:

  • Sudden loss of internet connection.
  • Audio files not playing (related to the test taker’s bandwidth).
  • Images not displaying (related to the test taker’s bandwidth).
  • System incorrectly indicating unanswered questions.
  • Clock display issue (related to the test taker’s bandwidth).
  • Unexpected closure of the evaluation due to internet disconnection, power outages, or equipment failures.
  • For oral interviews unable to be completed due to connectivity issues, the evaluations team will contact you via the email/phone number provided to schedule a new appointment.

14. ABOUT THE RESULTS

  • BELT English – Receptive Skills: If inconsistencies are identified in the test results (differences of 2 or more CEFR levels between sections), the test taker will be allowed to retake the test once more.
  • BELT English – Speaking: If required, the evaluations department may attach to the attained level the notes and audio recording of the interview that support the level achieved in the test.
  • BELT English – Writing: In case of dissatisfaction with the results, the evaluations department may attach to the attained level the written test and notes that support the level achieved in the test.

In all three cases above, this will be done only if required by the company where the applicant is applying.

15. SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Idioma Internacional, through its site for applying for the BELT test, requests that you do not take the test if you do not agree with our terms and conditions of use. We reserve the right to modify these terms of use at any time without prior notice. Therefore, using BELT services after such modifications implies that the User accepts them. It is the User’s obligation to be aware of any changes or modifications in order to review them before using the Website and/or its Services again.

16. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

The User acknowledges and agrees that the use of the Website is at all times at their own risk and responsibility. Idioma Internacional shall not be liable for any misuse of the Website. Idioma Internacional shall not be liable for damages of any kind to the user’s electronic equipment (computer, phone, tablet, etc.) caused by viruses or any other harmful elements. The User acknowledges that the use of the Internet network entails the assumption of a risk that their computer equipment may be affected by the aforementioned elements. Therefore, it is the User’s responsibility to have adequate tools for detecting and removing harmful electronic programs that may pose a risk to their computer equipment. Idioma Internacional shall not be liable for non-performance of its obligations due to force majeure, unforeseen circumstances, or the enforcement of governmental legislation, regulations, or restrictions of any kind that prevent the performance of its obligations.

17. FILING CLAIMS

All requests or claims must be processed through the email support@idiomacr.com. For this purpose, the facts justifying the claim must be expressly and detailedly indicated, along with attaching timely evidence where applicable. Likewise, the specific nature of the request or claim must be clearly specified. Idioma Internacional will respond within a period of ten business days, provided that it is reasonably possible to reply within said period.

Requests or claims regarding consumer rights and/or guarantees shall expire within a period of six months from the date the service was contracted. Requests or claims regarding the protection of personal data shall be subject to the provisions of Law No. 8968 for the Protection of the Individual against the Processing of their Personal Data, as well as Executive Decree No. 37554-JP.

18. APPLICABLE LEGISLATION AND COMPETENT COURTS

The use of this website shall be governed and construed in accordance with Costa Rican law. Any conflict, controversy, or dispute arising from or related to the relationship between the Company and the User, or any third party using the website, shall be resolved by the Courts of Justice of the Republic of Costa Rica.

19. CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE, DELIVERY OF RECEIPT AND SECURITY IN THE PURCHASE

Idioma Internacional S.A. subcontracts the services of third parties to carry out the purchasing processes of our products. Therefore, the responsibility for correct confirmation, delivery of proof of purchase and security in these procedures falls entirely on the third parties subcontracted in the name and on behalf of Idioma Internacional S.A.
